Executive director
We are seeking a passionate and visionary Executive Director to lead in advancing its mission of empowering queer students and alumni. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction, building partnerships, and ensuring the effective implementation of programs that support the holistic development of LGBTQ+ students and alumni.
Duties will include:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a strategic vision for The OUT Foundation in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the organization's impact and reach.
Program Development and Management:
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs that address the unique needs of queer students, focusing on academic, professional, and social development.
Ensure programs align with best practices, inclusivity, and cultural competency.
Fundraising and Financial Management:
Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial resources for the organization.
Cultivate relationships with donors, grant-making organizations, and corporate partners.
Manage the organization's budget and financial resources effectively.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and support for queer students.
Represent The OUT Foundation at public events and advocate for the organization's mission.
Board Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to provide regular updates, seek guidance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Staff Leadership and Development:
Recruit, mentor, and lead a dedicated team, fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture.
Provide professional development opportunities for staff members.
qualification
Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, with a proven track record of success.
Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, particularly related to the experiences of queer students.
Strong strategic thinking and visionary leadership skills.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including Board members, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
Candidates who display a track record of volunteer work/activism within the LGBTQ+ community will be preferred. Queer BYU alumni and/or residency in Utah is preferred.
